I am shamelessly stealing the title of this post from Kirk’s post at Priestly Endeavors, in response to Breana’s article, "Compromised," at Gun Lovin’ Dwarf Chick. I urge you to read Breana’s article, then Kirk’s. You don’t even have to come back here afterwards, if you don’t want to.
But in case you don’t follow the links, Breana relates the case of a guildmate whose account was stolen via a keylogger, and the less-than-satisfactory process Blizzard has to respond to account theft. Let’s not even get into, for the moment, the wisdom of having or not having software to detect keyloggers (note, however, your standard antivirus program probably won’t do it). The entire point here is that the GM to whom many in Breana’s guild reported the issue, only had the capability on a Friday night to tell Breana and her guildmates to wait until Monday could only tell them to contact Customer Service during normal business hours.
Edit: I misread Breana’s original article, and confused her example of a situation that happened on Friday but could not be addressed until Monday with the actual situation, which occurred on a Tuesday. In either case,
THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE.
