What It Is
How many times have you come up to Curator in Karazhan, or Terestrian Illhoof in the same instance, and just before the pull, you’re frantically pulling out your /target Astral Flare or /target Demon Chains macro and slapping it into an open spot on a spellbar?
Or perhaps you’re up against Lady Vashj in SSC, and you are the weakest link when it comes to tossing around that hot potato known as a Tainted Core, wishing desperately for a way to get rid of it faster.
What about the Ogri’la/Sha’tari Skyguard dailies in Blade’s Edge Mountains? There are bombs, a wrangling rope, and banishing crystals to manage, and it’s much easier to have them on your spellbar instead of somewhere in a pack when you need to use them. Except, you really don’t have room for three more items on your bars!
I’ve found a single tool to manage all of these situations, and more: I Have Macro Lol! Here’s the description from WoW Interface:
IHML is an addon that gives you one macro which automagically changes what it is depending on what zone you’re in or which BigWigs boss module is enabled. All you have to do is take the IHML macro (the addon creates this for you and you can find it in your macro window or by typing /ihml pickup) and place it on one of your action bars.
It comes preloaded with various macros for Vashj, Curator, bombing in Skettis, using the Booterang in Netherwing Ledge, etc. Full list here. You can also add your own macros using the options menu (found by typing /ihml).
How To Use It
Using this add-on is unbelievably easy, and pure magical joy. As usual, download and unzip the file to your Interface\Addons folder. Enter the game and type /ihml into your chat window to bring up this screen:
Here, you can examine or modify any of the macros already included. You can also add your own, or remove any macros. But take a look at what pops up first: For us cooks out there, how cool is it to already have the cooking pot set up for a single click when we’re in the right locale, with the right ingredients?
Incidentally, the tooltip for the "Reinsert default macros" button reminds you it won’t overwrite macros you’ve changed; only ones you’ve removed.
I mentioned in a couple articles this week my difficulty in killing my Inner Demon during the Leotheras the Blind fight in SSC. As received, IHML has no Leo macro, so I made one:1, 2
There are also a few options you can configure:
These are fairly straightforward, but notice that BigWigs (which, like IHML, is a WoW-Ace mod) will trigger macro-swapping as appropriate for boss fights, in addition to the zone name and instance type.
The "Silent" option disables chat-window announcements of a macro being available, along the lines of "Blade’s Edge Mountains. I have a macro for that LOL!" Personally, I like the confirmation that IHML is doing its job; however, I may poke around the code at some point and change that message.
Summary
I’m an add-on junkie, as well as a macro maven. I Have Macro Lol! brings together both worlds in what is to me a beautiful synergy. While the program’s name may be a bit off-putting to some, I rather enjoy the tongue-in-cheekiness of it.
I know when I do Sunwell dailies, I’m having to swap out quest items all the time—and there are a lot to swap out there! Trying to do that with spell bars as full as mine was a real chore. Now, it’s fully automated! Not to mention the security of knowing my "boss fight macro" is always going to be there when I need it, in a familiar location. Unless you are completely add-on-averse (in which case, why have you bothered reading this far!?), you should at least give IHML a test-drive. I think you’ll be very pleased with the experience.
Bottom line for me is, this is a "must-have" add-on for WoW!

Ooooh, this addon looks awesome… especially for someone like me who is terrible with macros! *Add to “Must get” list*
I can totally see myself using this addon ALOT. I tend to be rather cryptic with my macro names, and half the time I spend using them is figuring out which ones I am using!
Do the macro’s that you enter in this get added to the Blizzard Macro window, or are they kept seperate?
Argh! I was just thinking how annoying it’s been juggling all these annoying SSO quest items. I’m definitely going to get this.

mmmm cookies… sounds fantastic… must get.

oooh omw to d/l that right now!
@ Shastarian: Great question! And I’m sorry I didn’t make that clearer. IHML takes up one spot on your General macros tab; the rest of the macro info is stored in your Saved Variables file.
So instead of a slot for your Astral Flare macro and another for the Demon Chains, you have the single “intelligent” IHML macro, and you can safely remove the others.
And THAT is one of the coolest things about this add-on: More room for macros that won’t fit under the IHML umbrella!

The only thing I find off-putting is that it should be has (or haz), not have.
No really, this sounds amazingly awesome and I can’t wait to try it. Thanks for the tip!

Looking at your Leo macro, I think I can make a couple suggestions which might help you.
Cast Inner Fire at the start of each Demon Phase if you’ve lost charges… at that point, the fire tank has no debuffs up, so they shouldn’t be taking much damage, and you can spare a GCD to get that off.
When the demon folds its wings (or you get the “Insidious Whisper” warning), cast PW:S on yourself, and Renew if you can. That way, if you get your demon, you’re already ready for it. PoM, too, if you have time. (Around the 30-second mark is when I start prepping for my demon).
If you don’t get a demon, eh, just heal the fire tank and anyone else who has a demon. Healers shouldn’t have to heal themselves during Inner Demon — full DPS on the demon! Other than that, I’d probably keep your macro about as it is:
/castsequence SW:P, Smite, Smite, Smite, Smite, SW:D
(assuming that your Smite hits for about about 2k, and SW:D hits for the same amount).
One thing to note is that the Inner demons are susceptible to Holy and Nature damage, and have extra resistance against fire and shadow — you may find that Smite hits for about as much as SW:D on average, without the danger of feedback.
You can check how much each hits for by going back into your old WWS reports and browsing the raw logs for Kestrel attacks Inner Demon.
Our healers had a lot of trouble staying alive during Inner Demon until we really enforced the “don’t heal yourself, just spam smite/wrath/lightning bolt” rule. Shorter cast times are better, because usually healers don’t have much push-back protection, and Holy Fire can get pushed back to 6 seconds or more…
@Ess: I agree.
@Andris: Those are some EXCELLENT suggestions! Thanks very much for taking the time to help me out.
Kestrels last blog post..Add-On Review: IHML – I Have Macro Lol!
Thanks for the heads up on this awesome mod! It really is a life saver. Many times I get to a boss and forget to switch macros, and end up fumbling around with my macro menus at the beginning of the fight.
WOW this looks like a really useful mod. I’m going to download it now. Thanks Kes.

Glad to have helped everyone! I’ve been using IHML for a week now, and it’s quickly become one of my most important add-ons.
Kestrel’s last blog post: TNB #9: In Case You Missed It
Kestrel, on your Leo macro you should use your essence of the martyr instead of your earring. Using essence gives you more damage.
Heheh…very good point, Elvenmoon! When I wrote this article, I hadn’t yet obtained the Essence.
