A Little This and a Bit o’ That

You Made Me a WHAT?

Last Wednesday, I logged in around 7pm for our 8pm raid. Since I had time to run a couple dailies (cooking, Nagrand Sunwell daily), I logged Talonis in. About two minutes later, I was shocked to see the following in guild chat:

Osprey has been promoted to CL Alt.
Osprey has been promoted to Class Leader.
Talonis has been promoted to Social.
Talonis has been promoted to Hardcore.
Talonis has been promoted to CL Alt.

Oh. My. Talk about surprised: I was on Skype with a friend at the time, and she heard me say something I never say when I’m surprised. So I guess I was shocked.

So now what? I just respecced to 20/41/0 [spell]Circle of Healing[/spell] (CoH). That means I am an ex-[spell]Improved Divine Spirit[/spell] Priest, but a zero-credibility CoH Priest. I can barely spell "shadow." I don’t know [spell]Vampiric Touch[/spell] from [spell]Vampiric Embrace[/spell] (except I know both are Good Things for my group). And without that yummy spirit buff, my +Healing is teh suq. At least I know if you’re casting [spell]Flash Heal[/spell] > 50 percent of the time, "yur doin’ it wrong."2

Any suggestions, advice, or commiseration gratefully accepted. Guess I should hie myself back over to the PlusHeal fora, eh?

The Emperor’s New Clothes Looked Better

Over the past weekend, I finished up a Kara run with Osprey (full clear less the two dragons: our tank was a bit under-geared for them). That put me at 99 badges, and I needed 100 for either the [item]Adorned Supernal Legwraps[/item] or [item]Gown of Spiritual Wonder[/item]. A quick Heroic Mechanar (skipping Nethermancer Sepethrea) and I was at 102 badges.

Over to the badge vendor I go. After comparing my options, accounting for gems and enchants, the clear choice was the Gown. I have to say, I’ve never, ever, on all my characters (including mismatched looted and crafted greens on lowbies),seen such an ugly piece of clothing!! Its hideous appearance is only slightly tempered by the Tabard of the Shattered Sun (which, of course, only conceals the portion above the belt; why can’t Blizzard fix that??).

Unfortunately, there are really only two viable upgrades to this robe: One drops from Illidan in Black Temple; the other from M’uru in Sunwell. (Yes, there is the tailored [item]Robe of Eternal Light[/item], which pattern can drop of Sunwell trash; however, the lack of Spirit on it makes it a marginal, if not questionable upgrade.)

SO NOW I’m ready for Wrath, if only to get rid of this ugly muu-muu I’m wearing.

Notes:
  1. I am a huge fan of Tom Hanks, the actor and the person. Every single movie of his I’ve seen, I thoroughly enjoyed. I’ve not watched Forrest Gump. Or Cast Away. Or Saving Private Ryan. I need to fix that.
  2. Yeah, we have a couple of those. *groan*

Kestrel:

I can’t agree more about the ugliness of the robe. It made me respec my priest to Discipline and go PVP instead of raid. Granted I had pretty much made my hunter my main by that time, but he still hasn’t set foot in a raid!

Kestrel — Welcome to the CoH club. What does your +healing and regen sit at now? How far progressed is your guild? I’ll admit, I’m a newb to this particular blog. But I love to talk holy priest shop with others.

Hiya Phayte! Welcome to the Aerie. :)

With Prayer of Spirit, my +healing is 1915; mana regen is at 669/251.

The Oroborus is 4/6 SSC; either 0 or 1 in TK (can’t remember if we got VR down) and we’ve downed Rage Winterchill in Mount Hyjal.

Stop by any time!
