Mounts first: The Cenarion War Hippogryph (requires Exalted with Cenarion Expedition) finally got a ground movement animation this week. I recommend you stick to flying really low, unless motion sickness doesn’t bother you. It seems Blizzard perfectly captured the animation a camel would have if it were a WoW mount.
All well and good, I guess…but for crying out loud, Blizzard, let the damned thing land once in awhile!
Ever notice that Druids in flight form (swift or not) occasionally glide on air currents, rather than continually flap their wings?
Ever notice your flying mount never stops flapping its wings? (But taxi gryphons glide!) I can hear our mounts talking to each other in the World’s End Tavern: "I just flew in from The Stormspire…and boy! are my wings tired!" (Yes, I know that’s a tired joke…)
And what about our pets (I’m thinking primarily hunter pets here)? Ever have one accompany you to the Auction House? You’re standing there for what must seem like hours, and they patiently wait beside you, slowly getting hungry. Cats stretch and yawn occasionally, but who ever saw a cat stand on all fours for hours at a time?
Or you’re standing around in TK while the RL gives his (or her) interminable description of a fight you’ve seen a dozen times (tonight). Ever notice the players aren’t smart enough to /sit and take a load off? Might explain why you’re trying to kill Kael for the 13th time tonight.
At any rate, you can sit (or lie down) if you’re so inclined. What about your pet though? Shouldn’t there be a /rest animation for pets? Even if, say, cats go into the meatloaf position, or flying pets (I’m thinking of my chimaera here) simply roost and fold their wings? That animation could even be tied to /sit.
Something for Blizzard to think about, anyway.
So given my suggestions, what other kind of useful fluff can Blizzard put into a future patch? Something for the forum trolls to QQ about "Why in hell did Blizzard do this, instead of fixing my class??"

after doing alot of exploration, what i would love to see, is mounts for water. a rowboat, seadoo, whale, dolphin.
come on blizz, let me feel the breeze of an ocean as I swim.
not paddle
Oh yeah…now there’s an idea I can row with!
I want real pet emotes (with animations and sounds as appropriate).
For Devilsaurs, tiny Azerothians on horseback appear, and get chased down and squished.
Cats either meatloaf or curl up and sleep away.
Gorillas throw barrels around.
Owls roost, and if there are any critters around, swoop in and eat them. This goes for any bird.
Hyenas and wolves walk in a circle for a while before flopping down and sleeping.
Worms dig a hole in the ground, and then start tunneling around with that Crust Buster animation.
So many possibilities here.
Gorillas throwing barrels — Genius!
For Core Hounds how ’bout a nice Gnome to chew on while waiting on it’s master?
Fix that awful sputtering animation on Wind Serpents. Poor things look like they have the DT’s.
Gorillidan’s should toss stuff around or climb and swing from things!
How about those nice big dragon mounts from the Caverns of Time? It would sure beat any Epics we have!
Yeah, compared to those CoT dragons, Netherdrakes are like parakeets.
It has always bugged me, since the first griffin I bought, that it never coasts when flying, it *always* flaps. Glad to know I’m not the only one who noticed that.
Would be nice to make banking turns, too. And while we’re at it: We can do loops (including OUTSIDE loops!!), but not rolls. >.<
I’d be happy with a cat or wolf / hyena just sitting down. I mean the wolf will occasionally plop down and howl, with the sound of the howl going through as well, but for them to sit down and wait… that’d be nice.
I’d also chuckle if the cat as an idle would notice a critter, or a mouse would spawn and the cat would chase it around for a bit before killing it / it getting away, or the cat sitting down and grooming itself like a cat would… kitty yoga would be amusing, but harder for the coders to do since it would also involve an animations team. But, it would deffinately make our pets come more alive, without having to use the PetEmote add-on.

Oh yeah…maybe an option for your pet to chase critters; or based on happiness/hunger.
Good ideas!! And I agree…wolves just sitting on their haunches would be good.
